Greenworks Lending is a specialty finance firm that provides loans for energy-saving upgrades in commercial buildings using an innovative model called PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy). PACE unlocks the commercial market by providing no-money-down, low-cost, long-term capital. Our mission is to improve the energy efficiency of our country by creating a new normal for financing energy upgrades in buildings.

Greenworks invests in transactions in fourteen states and the District of Columbia. We have offices in Darien, CT (HQ) and Bethesda, MD.

Role Summary

The Director has primary responsibility for managing channel partner relationships, originating new loans and driving complex projects through to completion. The role is based out of the Darien, CT office with expected travel around Connecticut, Rhode Island and northern New England.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work to nurture and support or clean energy channel partners in the use of PACE finance
  • Form relationships with commercial real estate professionals including building owners, developers and professional services firms
  • Drive team pipeline generation and manage pipeline to close
  • Partner with the internal finance team and external technical reviewers to obtain necessary financial and technical documentation
  • Work with mortgage holders (where applicable) to gain consent for PACE financing
  • Work with the Greenworks business development team to refine current processes to be more efficient and scalable
  • Increase market awareness of Greenworks Lending
  • Contribute to business development strategy

Qualifications:

The position is ideally suited for clean energy or commercial real estate professionals looking to expand their responsibilities and compensation while working towards a mission-driven goal in a rapidly growing company. All candidates should have 5+ years of customer facing experience on complex (multi-stakeholder, high dollar value) deals, the ability to lead deal teams in a growing organization, and relevant experience in at least one of the following industries: commercial energy efficiency/clean energy, commercial clean energy finance, commercial loan origination, commercial real estate. They should have a proven track record of exceeding goals.

  • Experience selling both direct and through channel partners.
  • Ability to nurture existing customer relationships and hunt new business.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (phone and in-person) and written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of adaptability to a quickly changing environment
  • Ability to manage a team against goals and prioritize a large volume of tasks and projects
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
