Greenworks Lending is a specialty finance firm that provides loans for energy-saving upgrades in commercial buildings using an innovative model called PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy). PACE unlocks the commercial market by providing no-money-down, low-cost, long-term capital. Greenworks invests in transactions in fourteen states and the District of Columbia. We have offices in Darien, CT (HQ) and Bethesda, MD.

Role Summary:

The VP/Director is responsible for leading Greenworks efforts to originate and manage PACE transactions in partnership with capital placement firms on a national scale. This individual will develop and support channel partners to create opportunities for commercial PACE transactions throughout the United States, with a particular focus on large structured finance transactions.  The successful candidate will also build out internal capabilities, go-to-market strategy, and product structure for larger commercial PACE transactions, working in close partnership with our sales and finance team. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and recruiting capital placement firm partners
  • Working alongside existing capital placement partners to train staff, originate new transactions, and close existing transactions
  • Originating and closing complex, multi-stakeholder real estate transactions. This work includes sophisticated deal management and interfacing with finance team, transaction attorneys, mortgage and tax credit lenders, accountants, developers/owners, and capital markets investors.
  • Managing a pipeline of large CRE transactions (~$30-500MM+) with Greenworks PACE component frequently $5-20M+
  • Developing Greenworks go-to-market strategy, pricing, and product structure for large PACE transactions
  • Scaling Greenworks Lending’s principal transactions function to serve significant national market demand


Top candidates will have the following characteristics:

  • 5+ years’ experience structuring complex commercial real estate transactions
  • Previous experience with complex CRE transactions including structured finance transactions, historic and new market tax credits, and/or CMBS
  • Previous commercial real estate experience in loan originations, sales, banking, finance, accounting, or underwriting is required
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (phone and in-person) and written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of adaptability to a quickly changing environment
  • Ability to manage a team against goals and prioritize a large volume of tasks and projects
  • MBA, CPA or Law Degree is desired but not required
