Greenworks Lending is a specialty finance firm that provides loans for energy-saving upgrades in commercial buildings using an innovative model called PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy). PACE unlocks the commercial market by providing no-money-down, low-cost, long-term capital. Our mission is to improve the energy efficiency of our country by creating a new normal for financing energy upgrades in buildings.

Greenworks is investor-funded and headquartered in Darien, CT with a satellite office in Maryland.

Business Development Director, Maryland/D.C.:
The business development director has primary responsibility for originating new loans, managing channel partner relationships, and driving complex commercial projects through to completion. Preferred candidate will be located in the Baltimore/D.C. region.

Key functions include:

  • Form relationships with commercial clean energy contractors, building owners, and other industry stakeholders
  • Drive team pipeline generation and manage pipeline to close
  • Partner with the finance team and external technical reviewers to obtain necessary financial and technical documentation
  • Work with mortgage holders (where applicable) to gain consent for PACE financing
  • Work with the Greenworks business development team to refine current processes to be more efficient and scalable
  • Increase market awareness of Greenworks Lending
  • Contribute to business development strategy


The position is ideally suited for competitive sales professionals looking to expand their responsibilities and compensation while working towards a mission-driven goal in a rapidly growing company. All candidates should have 5+ years of complex (multi-stakeholder, high dollar value) outside sales, management experience in a growing organization, and relevant experience in at least one of the following industries: commercial loan origination, commercial real estate, commercial clean energy finance, commercial energy efficiency/clean energy. They should have a proven track record of exceeding goals.

  • Experience selling through channel partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (phone and in-person) and written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of adaptability to a quickly changing environment
  • Ability to manage a team against goals and prioritize a large volume of tasks and projects
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
